I can't establish exactly when the “Oval P” was 1st used based upon my operate but I might make this observation. The Oval P evidence stamp is barely uncovered on barrels that have a Design 3 barrel deal with which is located on the still left facet in the barrel. This placement wasn't frequent until finally 1910 with the Product 1892 rifles.
